Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups
  • Rolling Pin
  • 9x13 Baking Pan
  • Small Saucepan:
  • Pastry Brush
  • Sharp Knife

Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup Warm water
  • 1 cup Warm milk
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Extra butter for filling

Instructions

Activate the Yeast

  • Mix warm water with sugar and yeast. Wait ten minutes until it looks very bubbly.

Mix the Dough

  • Add milk, butter, and flour to the bowl. Stir until a soft ball starts to form.

Knead the Dough

  • Push and fold the dough for five minutes. It should feel smooth and not too sticky.

First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover it and wait one hour for it to double.

Roll it Out

  • Punch the dough down to release air. Roll it into a large, flat rectangle shape.

Add the Filling

  • Spread melted butter over the flat dough. Sprinkle lots of cinnamon and brown sugar everywhere.

Roll and Cut

  • Roll the dough up into a long log. Cut the log into twelve even pieces with a knife.

Second Rise

  • Place rolls in the greased baking pan. Let them rest for thirty minutes to get puffy.

Bake the Rolls

  • Put the pan in a hot oven. Bake until the tops look golden brown and smell sweet.

Notes

➡️ Use room temperature milk for a better rise.
➡️ Do not kill yeast with very hot water.
➡️ Measure your flour using a spoon and level.
➡️ Flour your surface so the dough does not stick.
➡️ Tight rolls keep the cinnamon sugar inside well.
➡️ Let the rolls cool slightly before you eat.
➡️ Use fresh yeast for the biggest, softest rolls.
