  • Colander
  • Large Skillet:
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Dish
  • Wooden Spoon:
  • Aluminum Foil

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ziti Pasta
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 24 ounces Marinara Sauce
  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions

Boil The Ziti Pasta

  • Fill a big pot with water. Add a pinch of salt to the water. Bring the water to a fast boil. Add your ziti noodles to the pot. Cook them for about eight minutes. They should be slightly firm to the bite. Drain the water using a colander. Set the cooked pasta aside for later.

Cook The Italian Sausage

  • Place a skillet over medium heat. Add a little olive oil to the pan. Put the sausage meat into the hot skillet. Break the meat into small crumbles. Cook it until it is no longer pink. Add the fresh garlic to the meat. Stir it for just one minute. The smell will be very good.

Make The Cheese Mixture

  • Get a medium mixing bowl out. Put the ricotta cheese into the bowl. Add half of the parmesan cheese. Mix them together until they are smooth. You can add some black pepper too. This mixture makes the ziti very creamy. Set the bowl aside until you need it.

Mix Sauce And Meat

  • Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet. Mix it with the cooked sausage crumbles. Add the dried oregano to the sauce. Let the sauce simmer for five minutes. This helps the flavors blend together well. The sauce should be thick and red.

Combine Pasta And Sauce

  • Put the cooked ziti into a large bowl. Pour the meat sauce over the noodles. Toss them until every noodle is covered. Add the ricotta cheese mixture to the bowl. Stir it gently so you see white streaks. This creates a beautiful look and taste.

Layer The Baking Dish

  • Pour the pasta mix into the baking dish. Spread it out so it is even. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top. Add the rest of the parmesan cheese now. The top should be covered in white cheese. It is now ready for the oven.

Bake Until Golden Brown

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake the ziti for twenty minutes. Remove the foil from the baking dish. Bake for ten more minutes without the foil. The cheese should be bubbly and brown. Let it sit before you serve it.

Notes

➔ Add a little sugar if the sauce is sour.
➔ Let the dish rest for ten minutes after baking.
➔ Use fresh garlic instead of the jarred kind.
➔ Grate your own mozzarella for better melting results.
