Equipment

  • Large Dutch Oven
  • Wooden Spoon:
  • Measuring Cups
  • Sharp Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Smoked Pulled Pork
  • 1 lb Shredded Cooked Chicken
  • 1/2 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion chopped
  • 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes
  • 15 oz Cream Style Corn
  • 15 oz Whole Kernel Corn
  • 18 oz BBQ Sauce Hickory flavor
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce

Instructions

Brown the Beef and Onions

  • Start by cooking the ground beef in your pot. Add the chopped onions while the meat browns. Drain the extra grease so it is not oily.

Add the Prepared Meats

  • Put the pulled pork and shredded chicken into the pot. Stir them well with the beef and onions. Make sure the meat is in small pieces.

Pour in the Vegetables

  • Add the crushed tomatoes and both types of corn. Do not drain the liquid from the corn cans. This liquid adds a lot of great flavor.

Mix the Sauces and Spices

  • Pour in the BBQ sauce and the chicken broth. Add the Worcestershire sauce and the black pepper now. Stir everything until the color is nice and even.

Simmer the Stew

  • Turn the heat down to low on your stove. Let the stew bubble gently for two hours. Stir it every fifteen minutes so it does not burn.

Adjust the Consistency

  • If the stew is too thick, add more broth. If it is too thin, simmer it longer. It should stay on your spoon without falling off.

Notes

➔ Use high quality smoked BBQ pork for the best taste.
➔ Chop all your meats into very small, fine pieces.
➔ Let the stew sit for ten minutes before you serve.
➔ Always stir the bottom of the pot to prevent sticking.
➔ Add a splash of vinegar for a bit more tang.
➔ Use a mild BBQ sauce to control the sugar levels.
➔ Cook it a day early because it tastes better later.
